Jones Family Reunion Details - August 2011

We are doing things a bit differently this year! So, please take a moment to read the Reunion details at the bottom of this post.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

  1. There is no fee
to enter and we do not have a reserved spot. All the shelters were all taken for this year no matter the date. Next year I will get a reservation request in by January for tables and a shelter. It is a very large and nice beach park, so we are going very early in hopes to get a fire pit near an area with grass and beach. So bring lawn chairs and beach blankets.

  2. The parking can be difficult here, there is good size parking lot but it is a very popular beach. There is a load and unload area and there are additional parking areas east of the train tracks. There also is a large parking area south of the park entrance for loading and unloading boats so RV's or large vehicles can park there and it is very close with no streets to cross.

If you have any questions, please contact me or Genie Jones.

This is a great location that is free. But someone will need to volunteer to arrive early to stake our claim on one of the covered picnic areas adjacent to the parking lot (I've heard though that you must arrive between 6am and 8am to snag one of these). We hope to get a spot with a fire pit so folks can roast hot dogs, hamburgers, marshmallows, etc.

Located in Ballard on beautiful Puget Sound, this popular park offers extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

There is a large grassy area as well as a large beach front and a children's playground close to the picnic area. We can play volleyball, play Frisbee, fly kites, play by the water, go kayaking, light a bonfire... and catch an amazing sunset.
