Woodland Park Zoo - June 2010

This is a very cute photo / video montage put to very fun music of the sights we captured during the Eisenhower Middle School end of year field trip. I was the parent chaperone for Austin's group. We had a very good time and saw some really great animal antics. You will enjoy some very funny moments and some very touching moments. Watch it with your kids too... they will love it.... almost as fun as being at the zoo. ENJOY!

Awesome August!!

Concerts, Family, Vacation... woo hoo. Bob and I kicked off the month with a trip to the Gorge for a concert. The next day we had a lovely time at Glen & Diane's and enjoyed visiting with all the extended Rice family. We enjoyed having mom and Bill up for the month of August so had a fun day with the Ross Family. They spent one week at a nice hotel with a pool. The kids and I went there every day to visit and swim. Amanda got a new hair cut to start off her 8th grade year and then it was off to Seaside Oregon for a fun family vacation!! We attended friend's Karrie and Eric's beautiful wedding at the Victorian Manor in Snohomish. Alyson took the kids for a day of fun at the Everett Imagine Children's Museum. And, of course, the cats were their cute selves as usual!!

Marvelous May

We kicked off May with the fabulously wonderful production of "The Great Penelope." The show spanned two nights and we celebrated at Gianni's after both shows with family and friends.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my kids and Kitties. I also made a special Mother's Day tribute for my mommy. I also got to see my high school buddy, Daisy, who I hadn't seen in years.

On May 15, Amanda and her Middle School Choir participated in the Regional Choir Festival. Schools from all over participate and get rated on their performances. Amanda's group scored very high... Woo hoo!!

We finally got a sunny day so we decided to go down to Edmonds Beach and take in the sites and sound... as in Puget Sound. The next day it was up early for the Eisenhower Choir Booster Club
Car Wash Fundraiser
where we had 90 degree weather. Then we tried to cool off in the back yard with a new toy that didn't look as cool as it did on the box.

I decided to take advantage of the rare warm weather we were having, so I spent 8 hours in the front gardens - weeding, raking, cutting, trimming... whew! It was all worth it in the end. And be sure to check out the amazing shrinking Austin!

We had so much going on in May, Bob and I never really got to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary, which was May 1. But we are making up for it this summer with three amazing summer concerts: Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, and Ringo Starr & his All-star Band. So don't feel too bad for us. :-)

Happy 25th Birthday to Erika!

We had a nice lunch with the family on
Sunday, April 1, to celebrate
Erika's birthday (which is March 29).

Jesse and Grandpa & Grandma
Rice were there to help celebrate
the festive occasion!

Austin and Amanda were
more than happy to test the cake
to make sure it was okay to eat!

Even the host and hostess,
Bob & Julie, were captured
together in this rare photo. ;-)

These are the days...

This is my first post on my new blog. I created this blog as sort of a diary of my life as a mom. Being a busy, working mom can make for whirlwind days and, before you know it, they are grown and in college. We have so much going on, it's hard to remember everything you need to do or have done.

I want to remember every crazy moment, so that is why I've created this blog. I'm going to encourage my kids to participate in this blog too. I hope that we can keep this blog going for many years. I think it will be fun for my kids and I to reflect back to all that we have done and all the accomplishments we have made.

So that's it in a nutshell... who would have thought my legacy would be a blog.
