Applause Players "CATS" - Ultimate Blooper (expertly handled)

As Miss Laura would say, "WELCOME TO THEATER!"
So here we are... third and final show of the weekend. All is going along quite smoothly until this point. Sure... Friday night had a little blip at the beginning when the opening music started before our CATs were on stage... that was no problem - nothing noticeable. Saturday night we had a slight microphone malfunction during Grizabella's magnificent solo, "Memory." That was somewhat painful... but Griz skillfully reached behind her back and turned it off. Luckily... she projects very well. But nothing will top the transition section between "Jellicle Ball" and "Macavity." There is this transition scene where Old Deuteronomy gets kidnapped while sirens and suspenseful music plays in the background. Meanwhile, the three soloists, are quickly getting mic'd for Macavity (Lisa, Alex, & Amanda). When the transition music looped again, we figured they were buying time since there isn't nearly enough time to get all three gals mic'd before the Macavity music starts up. But we quickly realized we had a little problem when the transition track and sirens started playing over the Macavity track... just when we thought it was going to be no big deal and it sounded like it was going to be okay.... watch and see how it turned out!

Santa Breakfast - December 12 - Lynnwood Convention Center

From the Album: Applause Studio Santa Elves at the Lynwood Santa Breakfast!

This is the second Santa breakfast gig this year for the Applause Studio Performance Team. Santa hired these ladies to be his elves for his Santa breakfast series. These fabulous elves were there to greet and seat the guests as they arrived for food and fun. After everyone had yummy food in their tummies, the Elves entertained the guests with a snappy little Christmas number. They must have made quite an impression on Santa because he appeared from the North pole at the coaxing of the Elves. After Santa appeared, the Elves went around to each of the tables to escort the eagerly waiting kids (young and old) to where Santa sat waiting to hear their Christmas wishes. If that wasn't cool enough... The Grinch made a surprise appearance and read a story to the Kids. As Santa was getting ready to fly out of sight, the Elves lavished the children with gifts to their delight.

Applause Studio Elves at the Northgate Santa Breakfast

This year, Santa hired the Applause Studio Performance Team to be his elves for this year's Santa breakfast series.

These fabulous elves were there to greet and seat the guests as they arrived for food and fun.

After Santa appeared, the Elves went around to each of the tables to escort the eagerly waiting kids (young and old) to where Santa sat waiting to hear their Christmas wishes.

Several moms asked to have their baby's photo taken with the Elves.

If that wasn't cool enough... The awesome "Recess Monkeys" took the stage (known as the Wiggles of Seattle). (click the photo to see the video)

The Elves got the party started on the dance floor... followed quickly by a bunch of very enthusiastic mini dancers! (click the photo to see the video)

As Santa was getting ready to fly out of sight, the Elves lavished the children with gifts to their delight. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!! (click the photo to see the video)

What a wonderful day and a lot of wonderful memory for all the kids (and the Elves too)! (click the photo to see the entire album)

Alison's interview with KOMO TV in regard to Michael Jackson and "Thrill Mill Creek"

After Michael Jackson's death, KOMO TV set out to do a series of news stories about the pop icon. They had Alison's information on file from when Applause Studio hosted the "Thrill Mill Creek" events, part of the "Thrill the World" worldwide event. They were looking to interview Alison and requested some footage from the past "Thrill Mill Creek" events. So Alison called me up and asked if I still had all the movies I took... luckily I did. So I met Alison at the Mill Creek Forum with disc in hand and then stayed during the interview. They even asked her to do the Thriller dance, which she happily did without music even. :-)

Here is the news clip that aired on KOMO TV:
