Getting Into the Holiday Spirit

The Rice Family is getting ready for the holidays....

We kicked off the holiday season with the annual Edmonds Tree Lighting Ceremony. Click the image below to watch the video feature.

One evening, while driving home from Edmonds, we discovered this wonderful Christmas House. Click the image below to watch the short video clip put to music.

Now it's time for the Rice Home Holiday Transformation...

First order of business is to put up the Christmas lights outside.

Next, the kids put together a Gingerbread House with all the trimmings. To keep the kids from squabbling during the construction, it helps to use some of the frosting to seal their mouths. ;-)

Then it's time to get our Christmas Tree and decorate it. It started to snow as we brought our Christmas tree home.

As night fell on December 14, the snow had made a nice blanket of white fluff and the kids couldn't resist playing in it.

The next morning, it was pretty as a postcard and I captured some photos of our holiday house in the snow.

March Madness

Marching into spring we were...

  • Our first stop,
Amanda Spring Choral Concert with the Ike School Choir.
  • 2nd stop, we had fun celebrating at La Hacienda for Trenton's birthday (Amanda's friend).
  • Next stop, Saint Patrick's Day where our St. Patty's girl Amanda shows her Irish spirit and Austin chased some Leprachauns.
  • Then we have an aweful lot of Easter fun for you to check out. I also got some gardening in and was able to plant some new spring flowers.
  • But our next set of photos will show how it snowed the next weekend it's snowed like crazy and crushed and froze the poor darlings!! The snow melted a little just in time to celebrated Erika's birthday.
  • You can see that all of this excitement makes Mango the cat very tired. It his his job to hold up the walls in the house. :-) Speaking of cats... Reggie has a job too... fetching my print jobs. :-)

Snow Days Show at Gold Creek Church

Each year, select Applause Studio students perform at this very fun annual event at Gold Creek Community Church in Mill Creek. It is quite the fun event. They actual truck in real snow and families bring their sleds and have a blast sledding and playing in the snow. They also have an awesome selection of craft vendors. This year I bought a very fun knitted purse and a cook book that has the most wonderful recipes. I always get compliments on my purse and the recipes from the book are always asked for... especially the French Quarter cheese. It's to die for!!!
