January Jubilee (2008)

After we rang in the New Year, January started off with a visit from my favorite wild life visitors--the elusive Bobcat. So beautiful, yet scary too. Then it was "bye bye" Christmas tree. When you watch the video clip, it almost appears as if we have a wild tree running in our back yard. Also this month, Austin basketball team started on the game circuit. Be sure to check out Austin's January game highlights photo album. One highlight you can't miss is one of Austin's sweet layups.
Next, we finally caught up with family we were unable to see over the holidays. The flu hit our extended really hard. We celebrated Austin & Bob's birthdays and had lots of fun with the family. Austin also celebrated his birthday with his buds at the YMCA. We rented out the entire gym. Guess what they used that for? Speaking of birthdays... Amanda got a bedroom makeover as an early birthday present. And last, but definitely not least, we participated in the 4th Annual Applause Studio Showathon. Amanda performed of course, but instead of me performing too... it was Bob. However, I worked behind the scenes as the event coordinator. Enjoy the photos and videos!!!

Show-A-Thon 2008 - Applause Studio Annual Fundraiser

Applause Studio does it again. Our Youth Parent Organization (YPO) and all the talented students put on a 6-hours show at the Everett Mall to raise money for its Performing Arts programs. Hooray!!

Amanda performed of course, but instead of me performing as well... it was Bob. However, I worked behind the scenes as the volunteer and fundraiser coordinator. I am happy to announce that we raised more than our goal this year. Whoo hoo!!!

Austin's Basketball Birthday Party

This year, we rented out the YMCA gym for Austin's birthday party. He and his pals had the whole facility to themselves. They worked up an appetite for sure. Belated Holiday Gatherings...

We finally caught up with family we were unable to see over the holidays. The flu hit our extended family really hard.

First stop, Garet & Merri's where we caught up with the Gunderson/Markley/Delatour clan.
After that, we headed over to Larry's house.
The puppies put on a great show for us.

Ringing in the New Year at the Rice House

This is how we spent New Year's Eve. The kids banged pots and pans and Bob played a mean, screaming version of auld lang syne on his guitar. And of course, I was running around with my camera capturing it all.
